Too often we see people using too much momentum to pull the cable towards their face. This leads to a lack of tension on the targeted muscle, which is the rear delt and infraspinatus (rotator cuff muscle) which is essentially making you miss out on all that tension (muscle gain / strength) 🤕

Try sitting down and focusing on tension and control while performing this exercise and watch while your shoulders become bullet proof 🫡😤

Next time you have them in your program try following these steps:

1️⃣ Keep your elbows closer to you and on a 90 degree angle
2️⃣ Engage the lats so your arms and shoulders are less compromised 
3️⃣ Think about putting your body weight on your butt so your body doesn’t swing as much
4️⃣ Bring your knees up and down slowly in order to feel more tension on your abs

Similar to other retail businesses, performance targets are determined by sales and sessions rendered vs. client satisfaction, retention, and outcomes.

Ever walk into a commercial gym and wonder why the energy is unwelcoming and flooded with trainers soliciting their services in hopes of wrangling you up as a client? Busier trainers are often egomaniacs (big fish in small ponds) and the newbies are scraping by to just make a living. It’s a high turnover sales job in a dog-eat-dog environment that puts client care at the bottom of the priority list.

@upfittrainingacademy is proud to offer full time salaried coaching positions with benefits unique to our industry like paid time off, a stipend for continuing education and meals paid for. That way our staff can focus on value delivery versus chasing the next sale or how much they’re making on their next paycheck in hopes that they can pay their bills.

If you do end up meeting a great trainer in a commercial gym who’s knowledgable, cares, wants to do extra work for you and focuses on quality, you’ve found a diamond in the rough. A personalized training program that tailors to your fitness goals! Wes walked me through nutrition and lifestyle habits to help me reach my fitness goals for my upcoming wedding. Patricia’s training classes are focused and intense. She continuously checks in and is motivating from start to finish. The workouts are challenging enough to push you out of your comfort zone but doable. Highly recommend!

I’ve been training at UpFit for about 5 years now and have seen tremendous progress in my strength and conditioning! I love how helpful and knowledgeable all of the coaches are, as well as encouraging. Having them challenge me and remind me that fitness is about mental toughness and constantly pushing past your limits to get better. It’s a great place to start your fitness and wellness journey, refine it or elevate it!

Absolutely love this gym and the trainers. It is a safe space to train and everyone is incredibly supportive. You form relationships with the trainers, you get to know them and they get to know you, and they know exactly how to challenge you and support you in your journey. Joining UpFit was the best decision I have made. I have met wonderful people, have been challenged and have been loving every minute of it. I love it so much I have recommended it to a friend, who has also joined.
